National Resource Centers
The overarching goal of the eleven NRCs is to build the capacity of state, local, tribal, and other publicly administered or publicly supported child welfare agencies as family and juvenile courts implement Federal legislation intended to ensure the safety, well-being, and permanent placement of children who enter the child welfare system. These Centers conduct needs assessments, provide on-site technical assistance, identify and disseminate best practices, and coordinate and collaborate with other NRCs and agencies.  In additional to the National Resource Center for Adoption, the other Resource Centers funded by the Children’s Bureau are:

Child Welfare Technical Assistance Implementation Centers
The Children’s Bureau established five regionally based Implementation Centers to expand the existing Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Network and enhance its ability to provide in depth and long-term consultation and support to States and Tribes. In addition to working with the T/TA Network, each Implementation Center will enter into formal partnerships with States and Tribes in its assigned geographic service area to execute projects focusing on the implementation of strategies intended to achieve sustainable, systemic change that results in greater safety, permanency, and well-being for children, youth, and families.
